Buckle up for a Busy Final Weekend!

OK friends and families of the 2017 NS Stars - buckle up for a busy final weekend of hockey! The team has completed their development sessions, off-ice learning, and exhibition games and now get their chance to apply all the the lessons learned at their final tournament of the fast-paced Spring season.

The 2024 Future Stars Cup kicks off Friday morning at St. Margarets Centre in Tantallon. The kids take on the 2017 Fusion team at 10:40 am (SMC) followed by a second game at 4:30 pm (SMC) against 2017 Outside Edge. They are back on the ice Saturday (SMC) at 10:10 am versus Team O'Neill. There will be a semi-final game Saturday afternoon (time TBD) at the RBC Centre. The final for the 2017 division is scheduled for 11:50 am on Championship Sunday! Good luck and have fun to all players, coaches, and staff!

Final Tune-ups for the Future Stars Cup

The 2017 NS Stars played their last exhibition games to prepare for the final tournament of their season - the Future Stars Cup. The kids bonded as teammates, practiced the skills they learned in their development sessions, and continued to learn about the rules of full-ice hockey. They competed against other kids and programs in the region over the past 2 weeks at rinks in HRM.

NS Stars at the Oyster Cup

The 2017 NS Stars completed their 1st tournament together as a team - the Oyster Cup in Charlottetown, PEI. They had loads of fun at their 1st "away" tourney - playing games, swimming, enjoying Cows ice cream, and playing a lot of mini sticks! They competed hard and gave their best - their development was visible from the first to the last game! It is fun to watch the huge development as they progress through the season. Next up: more exhibition games and practices to prepare for the home tourney - the Future Stars Cup May 17-19 in Halifax, NS.

Getting Ready for the 2024 Oyster Cup!

The 2017 NS Stars completed their first "off-ice learning" this past weekend. To prepare for their 1st tournament as a team at the upcoming Oyster Cup in PEI, the team learned about how to best prepare for games during tournaments. This included talking about the importance of balancing fun at "away" tournaments with proper rest, nutrition, and pre-game routines.

2017 NS Stars Hit The Ice!

AND AWAY THEY GO! The 2017 NS Stars wrapped up their 1st week of their Spring development program today at St. Margaret's Centre! The little Stars are off to a great start with the busy Spring schedule. Coach Shane has them working hard on their skills and having fun with their new teammates!
